Im-Sol, a girl who was involved in a car accident when she was young, receives news that her favourite K-pop idol, Ryu Sun-Jae, has died. In the midst of her anguish and sadness she magically travels back to 2008 where Sun-Jae was only 19 years old. Enchanted by the incredible opportunity to help him change his tragic future, Im-Sol decides to embark on a mission to change the course of the past and perhaps find love along the way.
Before we started watching the series, we knew little or nothing about the main cast. However, the unbeatable review score on Viki convinced us to give it a chance. And I have to admit that, from the very first episode, we were completely hooked. My only doubt was whether it would be suitable for ages 12+.
Would it be a convoluted and really hard series? To our surprise, it turned out to be a beautiful romantic comedy with time travel that led to hilarious situations that made us laugh out loud. Our protagonist, who after a tragic accident ends up in a wheelchair, will show how hard she fights to take advantage of a second chance that life offers her.
On the other hand, a magnificent Byeon Woo-seok will show us that love goes beyond time and space. Love can do anything, it is understanding, it forgives everything, it is waiting without limits. Undoubtedly, one of the most sincere loves of Kdrama Land.
As a romantic comedy, it has its clichés that we love: the umbrella in the rain, the love trio, putting band-aids on and healing wounds, the photos in the photo booth and an endless number of details that are repeated in many series and that we can’t help but adore.
As for the rest of the cast, we will see many familiar faces. Like Chung Young-ju, who we are used to seeing as the mother of all the leading ladies in our series, the famous Kim Won-hae, who plays the father of the main character but we had already seen him in Strong Woman Do Bong-soon, While You Were Sleeping… he always embroiders and leaves us with a smile on our faces.
It is the first time we have seen this actor acting, and the truth is that we loved him (not only for his beauty, hahaha) but also for his good acting and above all for his height. We were pleasantly surprised by his height of 1.90, which stands out on the screen.
Im-Sol touches us with her story of the past, but even though it is very hard, her story is what keeps her going. We are surprised by her sudden decisions. But what I like most about this role is that she is not a weak girl (as in many other Korean series we have seen) but she knows how to face problems without looking back.
Song Geon-hee will be the one who completes the love trio, which we loved. The situations that are set up are so funny that you will really enjoy it. Remember the incredible birthday moment, we haven’t laughed so much in a long time.
The role of this guy is that of the bad guy who, in the end, can’t be any other way and is a piece of bread. I love it! You’ll come to wish that the protagonist ends up with him because he’s ‘a really good guy’.
It leaves nothing to chance, it has all the Korean clichés that we like so much, and the actors can’t leave anything to be desired. So if you don’t want to see it, you’re missing out.
The 10/10 songs ‘Sudden Shower’ and ‘No Fate’.
These actors were not well known until they did this series, where they have perfectly demonstrated their skills.
Yessssss, we stayed all week waiting for the new episodes to come out, wondering what would happen next.
It’s a perfect ending, after all the hardships they have endured, they deserve it.
