Go Mi-Nyu is a girl who wants to become a nun since all her life she has been living in a convent, but just when she plans to go to Rome a man asks her to impersonate his twin brother, this story is about a four-piece male music group called A.N.JELL and the adventures that the girl lives pretending to be her brother Go Mi-Nam without being discovered.
In a world where it seems that nothing surprises and where, for a series to become famous, its content must be vulgar and harmful, we find, to our pleasant surprise, a series that marked the beginning of the popularity of K-dramas in Korea in 2009. It is a classic K-drama with a white, sweet and tremendously funny humour that we can enjoy as a family and have a very pleasant time.
The series is made up of 16 lighthearted, funny and dynamic episodes. A continuous to and fro of entanglements and disastrous situations that will keep us entertained from beginning to end. Our protagonist is an orphan novice who will have to impersonate her twin brother and join a K-pop band along with three other male members. Disguised as a boy, she must become the pianist and vocalist of the group A.N.JELL without being discovered.
From the very first chapter, she will fail miserably, which is obvious, as this girl turns out to be a magnet for disasters. She will be discovered little by little by each member and everyone will start to develop feelings for her.
All in all a very entertaining K-drama and 100% recommended. We know you’ll have a great time, and after watching it, you’ll put it on your must-see list and come back to watch it every year.
None of the actors in this series are particularly good looking, as it’s a bit old fashioned, even though in real life they are much better looking than they look, but I think that’s why this series is so funny.
Park Shin-hye will play Go Mi-nam, our female lead disguised as a man. She is a world-renowned actress in dramaland, with the reputation that everything she touches turns to gold, and it seems to be true, the series in which she acts is a success. We have just seen her in the new Netflix production ‘Existential Urgencies’ or in her mythical series that catapulted her to fame ‘Heirs’, to date it can be said that she has filmed series with the most desired actors in South Korea: Lee Min Ho, Lee Jong-suk, Park Hyung-sik… And the truth is that she does it very well. You’ll see how he gets into one mess after another and will get you completely hooked on the series.
Each character’s personality develops over the course of the K-drama and you will end up falling in love with all of them. But for us, the undisputed ‘star’ is Jang Keun-suk in the role of Hwang Tae Kyung, he will be the unbearable guy, with a lot of character and 90% of the time angry. How can he manage to stay so serious until episode 8? If I’m not mistaken, that’s when we finally see a smile on his face. No doubt this special character makes this drama so much fun. I would pay to see a Chinese version of this series played by actor Dylan Wang (Daoming Si in the series ‘Meteor Garden’), he would have fit in like a glove. For Dylan’s fans, check out this series, you’ll like it too.
He reminds us of Yoon Ji Hoo from the famous series ‘Boys Over Flowers’; he is reserved, enigmatic and persevering. They say in Spain that if you insist and persevere in your intentions, you can get whatever you want… You know, in Spain, whoever endures the most wins. The Korean culture is different in that you insist, you try until you die and, in the end, you may not get what you want, but at least your karma is at peace knowing that you have tried. This kid, in Spain, would have won! In Korea, we were halfway there, but with a peaceful soul.
In the end, both in Spain and in Korea, what really matters is the personal satisfaction of having given your best, regardless of the result.
Everything is sweetness, innocence and laughter around Jeremy. He’s the kind of character you wish you had as a friend, because he’s so likeable that it’s impossible to dislike him. Without a doubt, he wins a place in your heart and becomes an endearing character. He is adorable because he sees everything in a positive way and always shows his best side in any circumstance; he adapts to all kinds of situations. His empathy level is through the roof; even if the world were to fall apart, he would find the bright side of things.
The series is a classic, you won’t find any great special effects in it. And you’ll no doubt be struck by the hairstyles and clothes, what a look they all wear. Surely 20 years ago it was the latest trend, but nowadays it is still a very old fashioned fad.
In general it’s great and the charm it has, as the chapters go on you’ll see them all looking gorgeous and you’ll even find their outfits attractive.
The soundtrack is very good considering it was made in 2009 and the actors have sung several of the songs. The best ‘Still’ or ‘Without words’ that you can download on Spotify
The actors do very well. We liked it a lot.
Addictive. No. But it’s hilarious, you can’t help but be hooked by the good time it gives you.
We liked it a lot. The last chapter kept us in suspense, glued to the sofa. All happiness and joy …., until the last sentence of the series. What a mania these Koreans have for surprising us at the end! Why do they do it? Anyway, you’ll have to watch it to find out and then tell us what you thought of it.
